Donations to the appeal allow us to add gifts for age groups that may be missing, and to ‘top-up’ our hampers at the last minute. As well to help us manage running costs and maintain core services.

What can I donate? What items do we need?

Most of our Christmas hampers are pre prepared by Food Bank SA and come in two sizes. So that we can provide a consistent gift to families in need, we ask that when donating goods, items in this list are what we will be most required – however – ANY donation of non-perishable food items is appreciated. 

Traditional (Large) Hamper;
  • Dark Fruit Cake
  • Fruit Pudding 
  • Plumrose canned leg ham 
  • UHT Milk
  • Tuna
  • Sweet biscuits/snack
  • Custard powder
  • Jelly Cups
  • Pretzels
  • Confectionery
  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce/Simmer (Stir Fry) Sauce
  • Diced Fruit
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Rice
  • Instant Mashed Potato
  • Tea Bags
  • Vegemite
  • Cereal
  • Instant Noodles
 
Festive Treats Hamper;

We CANNOT take:
  • Anything past its “USE BY” date
  • Leaking or unsealed products
  • Items without intact original labelling showing use by dates, product info, etc.
  • Dry goods more than 3 months past the “BEST BEFORE” date

 

We CAN collect:
  • Dry goods up to 3 months after the “BEST BEFORE” date (providing it has been well stored and is still fit for consumption)
  • Items that have their packaging intact and remain sealed (unopened goods)
  • Bashed, battered and dented tins, torn labels, etc – provided it remains sealed and has visible ‘USE BY’ date
